Simple Baked Tofu

Tofu is one of those things, like the word “vegan,” that tends to be a turn off whenever people simply hear the word.

The thing is though, tofu can be very versatile and used in making all sorts of flavorful dishes!

Today, I will be showing you an example of what to do with tofu without putting in much effort, and instead, just have your oven basically do all of the work for you!

Customize the flavors for those you love in this recipe, or just follow what I did. However, this can be easily customized to your liking by adding more herbs or flavors like garlic and onion if you desire! 😋

What you need to do:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees

  2. In a large bowl, mix together:

  • 1 package of extra-firm tofu, rinsed and drained, cut into cubes, and pat down with a paper towel

  • dried dill

  • onion powder

  • about 1 TBSP fresh lime juice

  • 1 TBSP fresh dice sliced green onions

  • around 1/8-1/4 cup of Braggs Liquid Aminos or low sodium soy sauce

  • about 1/2 tsp-1 tsp ground ginger

  • 1-2 TBSP jarred ginger

  • 3. Bake to your liking of tofu firmness. The longer you bake it, the more firm in texture it will become. I personally like to bake mine for at least 30-35 minutes before I check on it.

*The amount of soy sauce, dill, and onion powder is up to you. I love adding dill and onion powder to my dishes, so I may put in more than you would. However, for this recipe, I would use somewhere around a tsp or more of each.

When it comes to the soy sauce, I like to make the tofu dish a bit more liquid in consistency before it gets baked in the oven so that the tofu isn’t completely dry when I pull it out of the oven.

I can also infuse more flavors into the tofu if I want to add more herbs or spices to the recipe before baking!

Just do a little bit of experimenting and playing around with the flavors you like when making your own baked tofu! Eat as is, with a salad, or like how I do in a quinoa and brown rice bowl mix!

Happy eating everyone!
