Easy Hummus
Today I am going to show you a really simple, normal type of hummus that you can make from home for the cost of pennies to the dollar compared to the store-bought kinds, depending on if you have cooked chickpeas on hand or need to use chickpeas from the can!
Hummus is delicious, and its main ingredient is chickpeas so for the most part, it's pretty healthy!
Also, homemade hummus can be made healthier than the kinds that you can buy at the store because it's up to you what ingredients you choose to put in it! Do you want to use oil in your homemade hummus, or just water? The choice is yours!
These are the ingredients that you will need:
-1 pound of dried chickpeas, cooked and then rinsed and drained
-1 & 3/4 to 2 cups of cold water
-2 TBSP bottled lemon juice
-1/4 cup olive oil
-2 & 1/2 TBSP garlic powder
-2 TBSP onion powder
-2 tsp lemon pepper
-1/2 tsp salt
>>In a food processor, or preferably a high-speed blender, blend together all of the ingredients until you have a nice and smooth consistency π
If you desire more flavor in your homemade hummus, then add in more of the spices to your taste, or add in other flavors like hot sauce, stirring in dill after blending, etc.!
>>This recipe makes about 5 cups of homemade hummus π₯° Store in sealed refrigerator containers and use within 1 1/2 weeks!
